“To free the town he'll start a war.”
The forgotten southern town of Rondo is held hostage by the ruthless Whittfield crime family and their puppet, Sheriff Wiley (Dolph Lundgren). As the citizens live in fear, a mysterious drifter known only as "The Man" (Stephen Lang) arrives. Haunted by his past, he witnesses the oppression and violence inflicted on the innocent townspeople. When he intervenes in an attack on Lena (Scottie Thompson) and her father at their bar, he finds himself in a one-man war against the syndicate led by the ruthless crime boss, Jeremiah (Harvey Keitel). Drawing on his Green Beret skills, he wages a bloody war of redemption to free the town from its tormentors .
What if the villain you loved to hate in Avatar and Don't Breathe finally became the hero? Stephen Lang stars in Hellfire, a neo-western action thriller that pits him against a corrupt sheriff (Dolph Lundgren) and a ruthless crime boss (Harvey Keitel). Directed by Isaac Florentine (Undisputed III), a master of action choreography, the film pays homage to the iconic 'Man with No Name' classics like High Plains Drifter and Pale Rider . The premise is simple: a mysterious drifter arrives in a terrorized town and decides to fight back. But what is his secret? Why does he choose this particular town to make a stand? Director Florentine intentionally set the film in 1988, a time before the modern world fully arrived, allowing the town to exist in its own isolated, mythic bubble . If you're looking for a gritty, violent, and atmospheric throwback to classic revenge Westerns with a stellar cast, Hellfire deserves a spot on your watchlist.
