Edge of Tomorrow

Earth is under attack by relentless alien invaders called "Mimics." Major William Cage (Tom Cruise), an army public relations officer with no combat experience, is ordered to join the front lines for a major assault on Europe. When he tries to blackmail his way out, he is stripped of his rank, labeled a deserter, and sent to the battlefield. In the chaos, Cage manages to kill a powerful "Alpha" alien, but both are killed. He immediately awakens back at the military base on the morning before the battle. Stuck in a time loop, Cage dies repeatedly, each time resetting the day. He meets the war's legendary hero, Sergeant Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), who once possessed the same power. She trains him, and together they discover that the only way to break the loop is to destroy the central intelligence controlling the Mimics. With each death, Cage gains experience, transforming from a cowardly officer into a skilled warrior, fighting to change his destiny and save humanity.
