Les Orphelins
“They were orphans once. Now they must save one.”
Gabriel (Alban Lenoir) and Driss (Dali Benssalah) are two childhood friends who grew up in the same orphanage. Years later, their lives have taken opposite paths: Gabriel became a police inspector, while Driss works as a "fixer" in the world of organized crime. Their old friendship is a thing of the past, and a cold distance now lies between them. When their first love, Leyla, dies in a suspicious traffic accident, their paths must cross again. Leyla's 17-year-old daughter, Leïla (Sonia Faïdi), believes her mother's death was murder. Her faith in justice shattered, the young girl takes Gabriel's gun and sets out after a powerful organization trying to cover up the case. The only ones who can stop her are these two former "orphans," now adversaries. To prevent Leïla from crossing a point of no return and to save her, Gabriel and Driss must put aside their old grudges and learn to work as a team once more .
A police inspector and a crime world hitman... What could they possibly have in common? The answer: they grew up in the same orphanage and are now connected by a young girl seeking justice for her mother. 'The Orphans' (Les Orphelins), the feature debut of stunt coordinator-turned-director Olivier Schneider, arrives as one of Netflix's most ambitious French action productions. Produced by the same team behind the Lost Bullet series starring Alban Lenoir, the film seems to balance high-octane action with genuine dramatic weight . How will a young girl's thirst for revenge change the lives of these two reunited 'orphans'? Can Leïla, searching for a father figure, ever learn to trust them on her dangerous path? With a strong cast including Suzanne Clément, Anouk Grinberg, and Romain Levi, the film blends breathtaking chase sequences with a powerful reckoning of past traumas . If you're looking for a thriller with high tension and emotional depth, this story of two 'orphans' is for you. The film is now streaming on Netflix as of February 20, 2026 .
