After serving a three-year prison sentence, Harry Mitchel (Colin Farrell) is determined to leave his criminal past behind. However, his old friend Billy (Ben Chaplin) and Billy's ruthless gangster boss, Rob Gant (Ray Winstone), are intent on pulling him back into the underworld. Meanwhile, Harry crosses paths with a reclusive movie star, Charlotte (Keira Knightley), who is hounded by the paparazzi, and takes a job as her handyman. As Harry starts to find peace in Charlotte's glamorous yet secluded world, an unexpected romance blossoms between them. But when he refuses Gant's offer to rejoin the criminal life, Harry must confront the ghosts of his past to protect himself and the woman he has come to love.
London Boulevard, the directorial debut of Oscar-winning screenwriter William Monahan (The Departed, Body of Lies), masterfully blends a gritty gangster tale with a poignant love story. Colin Farrell delivers one of his finest performances as Harry, an ex-convict struggling with his violent nature while trying to protect a fragile movie star. Keira Knightley co-stars as Charlotte, the reclusive actress hiding from fame. Can a gangster ever truly escape his past? Or is the allure of fame and luxury as dangerous as the darkness he left behind? With a memorable villainous turn by Ray Winstone and a quirky supporting performance from David Thewlis , the film invites you to a stylish, tension-filled cat-and-mouse game set in a world that pays homage to 60s cool. If you're looking for a hard-hitting crime drama shadowed by an unforgettable romance, London Boulevard is for you.
