Max (Jamie Foxx) is an ordinary Los Angeles cab driver who has been driving for twelve years, dreaming of starting his own limousine company. One night, he picks up a passenger who seems cool and charismatic: Vincent (Tom Cruise). Vincent offers Max $600 to wait for him at his next stops. But the offer turns into a nightmare when Max realizes Vincent is a contract killer, and he's going to commit a series of murders throughout the night. Max becomes Vincent's hostage, forced to drive him from one hit to the next. In the cold, desolate streets of nighttime L.A., a physical and philosophical battle begins between these two opposing characters. To survive and stop Vincent, Max must become much more than just a cab driver.
When was the last time you saw Tom Cruise this cold, this menacing, and this convincing as a villain? Michael Mann's masterfully directed 'Collateral' features one of Cruise's most striking performances, shattering his typical heroic image. Jamie Foxx's transformation from an ordinary cab driver to a man fighting for survival is equally breathtaking. What would you ask a killer if you were forced to share a vehicle with him? Throughout this tension-filled night under the neon lights of Los Angeles, both the victims and the audience are shocked at every stop. Cruise's unforgettable monologue about the difference between 'killing a person and shooting them and letting them die' is one of the coldest dialogues in cinema history. If you don't want to miss this perfect blend of suspense and character drama, get into Max's cab.
