“Some monsters wear badges.”
Xavier (Jermaine Fowler) grew up in a gang-controlled housing project in Los Angeles and now works as an LAPD officer. Alongside his best friend and partner Ethan (Justin Long), he learns of a secret police unit called the "Night Patrol." Ethan is recruited into the unit, but soon discovers they are not a typical task force: the Night Patrol is an all-white vampire gang that preys on minority communities. As Ethan's conscience struggles, Wazi (RJ Cyler), Xavier's brother, loses his loved one to the unit. Former rival gangs (Crips and Bloods) are forced to unite against this bloody threat. Xavier finds himself torn between his police identity and his loyalty to the neighborhood he grew up in, setting the stage for a violent reckoning that will last through the night .
What if your greatest fear is the very institution you trust? Directed by Ryan Prows (Lowlife, *V/H/S/94*), Night Patrol asks this question by uniquely blending police thriller with vampire mythology. The film combines the rebellious spirit of The Lost Boys with the gritty realism of Training Day . Imagine a police unit composed entirely of vampires preying on minority neighborhoods. And the person who discovers this terrifying secret is both a member of the police force and someone who grew up in those very neighborhoods. CM Punk's cold-blooded vampire leader, Justin Long's bald and muscular 'action hero' transformation, and Jermaine Fowler's portrayal of a man caught between two worlds are all intriguing . What if rival gangs (Crips and Bloods) unite against a common enemy and resort to Zulu magic? Night Patrol stands as a horror film that's both entertaining and thought-provoking, blending racial tensions, police violence, and vampire allegory .
